PELD Oeste do Pará organized the 1st Course on Best Practices for Guiding Visitors on Interpretive Trails, held March 16–19 in Alter do Chão. The initiative aimed to train tour leaders and guides to work in a more responsible, safe, and environmentally conservation-oriented manner.

The course was conducted in partnership with the Department of Tourism, with support from the Department of the Environment and ICMBio, as well as collaboration from the Alter Brigade, UFOPa, and other professionals in the region. 

 

During the four days of activities, the training covered topics such as trail management and signage, identifying animal tracks and footprints, tourism in protected areas, Amazonian savannas, venomous animals, and forest fire prevention. In addition to theoretical instruction, practical exercises—such as trail signage—were conducted. Among the initiatives carried out, the installation of an interpretive sign about the savanna on the Serra Piroca Trail stands out.​​
