FIRST COURSE ON BEST PRACTICES FOR GUIDING VISITORS ON INTERPRETIVE TRAILS

From March 16 to 19, the 1st Course on Best Practices for Guiding Visitors on Interpretive Trails took place in Alter do Chão. The initiative brought together 11 participants and focused on training tour guides and tour leaders to promote more responsible and safer practices.

The training was organized by PELD POPA, in partnership with the Department of Tourism, with support from the Department of the Environment and ICMBio, and also included collaboration from the Alter Brigada, UFOPa, and local professionals.

Over the course of four days, participants took part in a program that combined theory and practice, covering topics such as the Amazonian savannas, trail management and signage, identification of animal tracks and footprints, venomous animals, and forest fire prevention. Among the activities, the installation of an interpretive sign about the savanna on the Serra Piroca Trail stands out.
