During the months of December and January, the PELD Oeste do Pará carried out the distribution of six copies of the book "Biodiversity in the Tapajós National Forest and the Tapajós-Arapiuns Extractive Reserve", organized by Carlos Rodrigo Brocardo and Leandro Lacerda Giacomin and published in 2022.

The book brings together information on different groups of organisms of the local biodiversity and serves as an important reference material for students at all levels of education, researchers, and others interested in the biodiversity of the Tapajós region.

So far, the books have been delivered to five strategic locations: the base of the São Domingos community and the Tourist Assistance Center (CAT) of the Maguari community, both located in the Tapajós National forest; the office of the Tapajós-Arapiuns Extractive Reserve, located at the ICMBio base in Santarém; the Porão Cultural Bookstore, also in Santarém; and the Alter do Chão Brigade.

In addition to the books, an illustrated guide to mammals of the Tapajós National Forest and the Alter do Chão Environmental Protection Area was also distributed. The material presents information on the area of occurence, conservation status, scientific names, taxonomic families, common names, and characteristics of the footprints of the recorded species.

The distribution of the materials (book and guide) will continue throughout 2026, reaching other institutions and communities in the studied regions. The materials will also serve as a basis for outreach actions aimed at strengthening the connection between scientific knowledge and local guides and tour operators, who will take part in a tourism-oriented course planned to be offered later in 2026.
